Posted by Zebra EMEA July 10, 2014 at 7:03 AM

ZT400_web_banners_300x250

Several years ago, we started on a programme to build the next generation of printers.

Informed by the constant feedback we get from you, our customers (thank you!), we wanted to build a family of all printer types – mobile, desktop, card and industrial, that were significantly easier to use, integrate, manage and maintain. That offered benefits to customers with a single printer as well as those with thousands.  This is our goal for the Generation Z printer.

This is our goal for the Generation Z printer, including the recently launched ZT400. So what makes a Generation Z printer?

Are you compliant? Every medical device exported to the US now needs a unique ID

Posted by Zebra EMEA January 16, 2014 at 8:52 AM

Back in September 2013 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued draft guidance on the Global Unique Device Identification Database (GUDID). GUDID is a publicly searchable database administered by the FDA that will serve as a reference catalogue for every device with an identifier. Under the UDI final rule, the labeller of each medical device labelled with a unique device identifier (UDI) must submit information concerning that device to the GUDID, unless subject to an exception or alternative.

Yes, it’s a US compliance guideline – but if you’re thinking you’re outside the US and it doesn’t apply to you, think again. If you’re a medical industry manufacturer and you’re exporting to the US, the guidelines apply to you, too.

Increasing device use means increasing challenges for businesses. As many devices require their own unique provisioning, configuration and reporting requirements, ensuring consistency and control whilst minimizing costs and complexity can be difficult – unless you’re using Profile Manager, of course.

Profile Manager is an exciting new feature of Link-OS 2.0. It makes Zebra Link-OS printers even easier to integrate, manage and maintain, and this first release gives users the visibility and convenience of one application to manage all their Link-OS printers.
