Increasing device use means increasing challenges for businesses. As many devices require their own unique provisioning, configuration and reporting requirements, ensuring consistency and control whilst minimizing costs and complexity can be difficult – unless you’re using Profile Manager, of course.
Profile Manager is an exciting new feature of Link-OS 2.0. It makes Zebra Link-OS printers even easier to integrate, manage and maintain, and this first release gives users the visibility and convenience of one application to manage all their Link-OS printers.
With the ability to manage from a secure browser connection on a PC, tablet or smartphone, Profile Manager lets you control one printer, batches of printers or all printers in the network – with quick and easy access to printer settings, provisioning and status monitoring from any location with connectivity to the Profile Manager server.
Management of large printer populations is made simple by “tagging” printers within Profile Manager, administrators can then organize and select groups of printers for management or monitoring, allowing better visibility and control.

Its automatic discovery and remote printer configuration allows quick deployment, set up and configuration, with the ability to view and change individual printer settings, download files and label formats to a printer, groups of printers or printer types depending on the “tag” type.
Through alerts, get immediate visibility of events such as paper out or low battery, before they become critical and impact productivity.
By creating printer profiles – virtual “golden printers” – with desired configuration, settings and objects, the deployment of new printers becomes quick and simple, providing extensive savings in setup time. Printer profiles are also an excellent way to back up a printer’s configuration for crisis recovery.
Profile Manager is available now and is supported on both Windows and Linux server systems.
