Boasting a record-breaking attendance of over 130,000 medical professionals from across the globe, the 41st Arab Health exhibition and congress was a smashing success. With representatives from more than 4000 companies involved over the 4 days, the event presented attendees with the perfect opportunity to network and discover the latest products, technologies and services in the healthcare industry.
Innovation at Arab Healthcare
Unsurprisingly the Internet of Things (IOT) took centre stage at this year’s event, with multiple companies providing a wide range of IOT solutions across the sector. This trend towards connectivity was particularly noticeable in health monitors and other devices designed to observe and manage individual’s well-being. Particular interest was shown in technology built to manage chronic diseases away from the hospital.
Elsewhere 3D printing generated significant buzz, with advancements in the underlying technology, the applications of this ground-breaking innovation are rapidly becoming more substantial throughout the sector. Increased accuracy and detail in the 3D printing process is opening a whole new world of possibilities. With the right implementation, 3D printing has the potential to revolutionise healthcare, improving surgical outcomes, education and research.
Zebra Technologies at Arab Healthcare
Zebra Technologies showcased multiple healthcare desktop units throughout Arab Healthcare and yielded significant positive feedback. Particularly emphasis was put on the compact size of the ZD410 and the ZD420’s ease of setup. Attendees also showed strong interest in Zebra’s patient identification technology, the HC100 wristband printer being a notable favourite. In fact reaction to the entire range of healthcare scanners was immensely positive.
Beyond the hardware, attendee excitement was exceedingly high for Zebra Technologies’ ZATAR AMI cloud based time tracking solution. This easy to install IOT based system ensures patients suffering from an Acute Myocardial Infarction are treated in a timely manner and are attended within an acceptable time frame to preserve human life. The flexibility of this system was lauded in particular; the ability to adapt to alternative pathologies that require time critical intervention stood out amongst the competition.
Arab Health 2016 has been a unanimous success and there can be no doubt the innovations on display will have a big impact across the healthcare sector over the next 12 months.
